About

Hello and welcome to Random R’n'D. My name is Stig Olavsen and a I am a microelectronics engineer, working as a freelancer in programming and electronics, specializing in 3D visualization, simulation and games. If you have a project where you think I might be able to help, please feel free to contact me!

I first started computer programming in BASIC on the Commodore 64 around the age of 7, and I have been programming more or less since then. After the Commodore 64, I moved along to program in BASIC (AMOS) on the Amiga 500, before taking the step to assembler programming around the age of 14.

As well as programming, I have also been using my computers for other creative tasks, like music and graphics, both of which I still enjoy.

My bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering has further increased my skills in programming in several languages, including but not limited to C/C++, Python, Java, C#, PHP as well as VHDL/Verilog for FPGA design, and various Assembler languages (Motorola 68k, Microchip PIC, Atmel AVR and ARM).

Currently my main focus is Python and C#, within Blender 3D and Unity 3D, where I enjoy creating games and tools for game-development. As a long time gamer (since before I got my first Commodore 64 more than 20 years ago) this is something I thoroughly enjoy.

Still, I am very flexible when it comes to projects, so please do not hesitate to contact me even if your project doesn’t fit with whit what I have listed among my services.
